Evelyn Street Day School, located in Paramus, is seeking to hire two full time, year round lead teachers for the young toddler groups
Lead Toddler Teacher
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
When you join our team as a Head Teacher you will be expected to:
• Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn
• Work with students and teachers to provide an optimal learning environment.
• Offer aid to children when needed.
• Prepare and execute lesson plans and activities to reflect ESDS curriculum
• Facilitate individual and small group work so that students can enjoy a more specialized learning experience.
• Maintain the health and well-being of the children under your supervision (cleaning, meal preparation and dealing with minor injuries)
• Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners
• Work with children to improve both their academic and social skills
• Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children
• Support our center’s success by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement
Monitor duties to ensure that student injuries are avoided and equipment is not damaged or used improperly.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
A candidate with a current CDA is preferred but will accept at least one full year experience in the head toddler teacher position.
• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
• Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and discovery go hand-in-hand
• Outstanding customer service skills
• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
• Must meet state specific guidelines for the role
• Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors.
• Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Starting at $18/hour and higher depending on experience and certifications.
