About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Distribution Center Manager – Third Shift to lead overnight operations at a high-volume distribution center in Miami, FL. This role is responsible for overseeing all warehouse activities during the third shift, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and quality control.
This is a unique opportunity to help build and structure a new overnight operation, establish strong team culture, and drive operational excellence across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Operations Leadership
- Oversee all third shift warehouse activities, including receiving, picking, packing, staging, and shipping
- Ensure smooth transition and communication between shifts
- Monitor workflow and staffing to meet productivity and deadlines
- Ensure all work is completed accurately and within service levels
Quality Control & Accuracy
- Implement and oversee quality control processes across warehouse operations
- Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards
- Monitor error trends and identify root causes
- Partner with leadership to implement corrective actions and improvements
- Ensure damaged or non-compliant inventory is properly documented
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and warehouse associates
- Set performance expectations and monitor productivity
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
- Address performance issues and support employee development
Operational Performance
- Track key metrics including productivity, accuracy, and throughput
- Identify bottlenecks and implement efficiency improvements
- Ensure adherence to warehouse procedures and standards
Inventory and Receiving Oversight
- Oversee inbound receiving and ensure accurate processing of shipments
- Ensure proper storage and replenishment to support outbound operations
- Support cycle counts and inventory control initiatives
Order Fulfillment
- Ensure accurate picking, packing, and staging of overnight orders
- Coordinate with outbound teams to meet shipping schedules
- Monitor packing quality to reduce damages and errors
Safety and Compliance
- Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety policies
- Promote compliance with all regulatory and company standards
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
Cross-Shift Coordination
- Collaborate with other shift leaders to ensure alignment across operations
- Provide detailed shift reporting and participate in operational updates
- Support planning to balance workload across shifts
Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of warehouse or distribution center operations experience
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams or shifts
- Experience overseeing receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and quality processes
Skills
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Knowledge of warehouse quality control practices
- Experience in high-volume distribution environments
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to lead overnight operations effectively
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
