Junior Estimator – Sheet Metal
Location: Farmingdale, NY (100% On-Site)
Pay: $23.00 – $27.00/hour
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
About the Role
A busy and well-established Sheet Metal company located in Farmingdale, NY, is seeking a Junior Estimator to join our growing Estimating Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to build a long-term career in Sheet Metal Estimating.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing estimates and material take-offs for Sheet Metal ductwork projects
- Review and interpret mechanical blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
- Perform accurate electronic measurements and calculations
- Utilize electronic take-off and estimating software such as FastEST/FastDUCT or similar programs
- Work closely with senior estimators to learn company processes and industry standards
- Communicate with internal teams to support bidding and estimating efforts
- Maintain organized records and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
Requirements
- Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints and specifications
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Familiarity with Bluebeam and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Motivation to learn and grow within Sheet Metal estimating
- Reliable transportation and ability to work 100% on-site in Farmingdale, NY
Preferred Skills
- Experience with FastEST/FastDUCT or comparable Sheet Metal estimating software
- Prior experience assisting with estimates or material take-offs in a construction or Sheet Metal environment
