Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team at our metal finishing shop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure smooth operations. This role requires a combination of electrical, plumbing, machine repair, basic construction, and computer usage skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial machinery and equipment.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, including 110 V wiring, circuits, and components.
- Handle plumbing repairs, including piping, valves, and fixtures, to ensure proper function. Experience with plumbing PVC and similar is a plus.
- Conduct basic construction tasks such as drywall repairs, minor carpentry, and painting as needed.
- Utilize computer systems to log maintenance work, track inventory, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
- Work collaboratively with the operations team to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Basic construction skills, including drywall, painting, and carpentry.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Comfortable using computers for work orders, reports, and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in industrial environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in electrical, HVAC, or other relevant trades are a plus.
- Experience in a metal finishing or manufacturing environment is a plus.
