Health Information Technician Compensation

• The pay for this position is $17.50 per hour
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Health Information Technician Highlights

• The required availability for this position is Monday–Friday, 7:42 AM–3:42 PM
• No weekends or holidays required

Health Information Technician Responsibilities

• Compile, review, and organize medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Scan and upload documents into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
• Prepare charts for new admissions, complete forms, and process requests for reports or certificates
• Compile and type statistical reports (e.g., census data, admissions/discharges, Medicaid days)
• File and retrieve health information records and maintain accurate logs
• Provide health record information after evaluating the appropriateness of each request
• Coordinate with other departments regarding medical records procedures
• Work closely with a team of 6 other staff members

Health Information Technician Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• High School Diploma or GED
• Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days

Health Information Technician Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is a plus, but training will be provided
• Prior experience in records management or medical terminology is a plus
