Job Description

The Material Handler / Logistics Specialist supports a fast-paced operations team by ensuring that all materials and components are accurately received, tracked, stored, and delivered to the shop floor. This role is critical to maintaining a smooth manufacturing flow, safeguarding inventory accuracy, and supporting the production schedule. The specialist also serves as the primary point of contact for incoming and outgoing shipments and uses ERP software to maintain precise data and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and components against packing slips and purchase orders.
• Log all incoming and outgoing materials accurately in the ERP system to maintain inventory integrity.
• Stage, move, and deliver materials and components to the shop floor in alignment with the production schedule.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport materials safely.
• Support shipping activities by preparing, packaging, and documenting outgoing shipments.
• Maintain organized storage areas and ensure materials are clearly labeled and easily accessible.
• Monitor inventory levels and promptly communicate any discrepancies, shortages, or issues to the appropriate teams.
• Collaborate closely with production, logistics, and project teams to ensure timely material availability for complex manufacturing projects.
• Follow established safety procedures and best practices while performing all warehouse and material handling tasks.
• Adapt to changing project requirements and production priorities as capabilities and workloads scale.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling environment.
• Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to quickly learn ERP software, including Odoo.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when logging parts and managing data.
• Ability to perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment, including lifting, moving, and staging materials.
• Experience operating forklifts or heavy material handling equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with an ERP system, ideally Odoo.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment for complex products.
• Forklift certification or documented experience operating heavy material handling equipment.
• Demonstrated experience working on project teams and collaborating across departments.
• Ability to adapt to evolving project objectives and requirements as production capabilities scale.

Work Environment

This position follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, providing a consistent daytime work routine. You will work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment, performing physical material handling tasks and operating equipment such as forklifts. The role involves collaborating within dynamic teams on diverse projects, typically ranging from small groups of 1–2 members to medium-sized teams of 3–6 members. The environment emphasizes strong interpersonal communication, adaptability to evolving project objectives, and close coordination with production and logistics teams as capabilities scale.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
