Location: Nashville Metropolitan Area - McEwen, TN (approximately 60 miles west of Nashville)
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: 70-90K

Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in machine design, automation, and SolidWorks to support the development of custom automated machinery and manufacturing equipment.
Job Duties:
- Design custom automated machinery and mechanical systems using SolidWorks
- Create 3D models, detailed drawings, assemblies, and BOMs
- Review customer requirements and develop machine design solutions
- Select materials, components, and manufacturing processes
- Integrate automation technologies including pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, conveyors, and servo-driven systems
- Support engineering calculations, component sizing, and design validation activities
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers throughout project execution
- Support machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning activities
- Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Identify opportunities for design improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
- Automation equipment or custom machinery design
- Robotics, motion control, pneumatics, conveyors, or industrial automation systems
- Manufacturing, industrial equipment, or systems integration environments
This role is ideal for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, SolidWorks experience, and hands-on machine design experience. Experience designing custom machinery or automation equipment is highly preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- 2-6 years of mechanical engineering experience
- Experience with machine design and custom equipment design
- Experience using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
- Experience creating mechanical drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials
- Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, manufacturing processes, and fabrication methods
