Job Description
Cleans, lays out, machines, fits, assembles, and finishes metal parts to make or repair mold and inserts for injection molding of plastic parts.
Minimum Job Requirements

High School Diploma with Apprenticeship in mold making.

3 to 5 years experience in mold making, assembly and repair.

Certification in tool and die preferred.

Must have own mold making tools as required for the position.

Knowledge of set up and operation of machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and electrical discharge machines to conform to manufacturing specifications.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Essential Functions
-
Responsible for tool maintenance, such as cleaning and using measuring devices/micrometer, digital caliper, microscope, and profile projection to verify that cavity dimensions are to specification.

Repair damaged tool, including replacement of different inserts or parts of tool.

Must be capable of making new parts for tool.

Must have knowledge to properly use machinery in tool repair area. These tools are surface grinder, I.D. grinder, milling machine, lathe, EDM, welding machine, sand blasting, honin machine, polishing, and panto engraver.

Should be familiar with the different types of tools and molds.

Must be capable of building new cavities, repair old cavities and change designs of molds as needed.

Follows all Occupational Safety and Health Policies and Procedures. Reports any safety deficiency to immediate supervisor.

Follows Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
Understands and complies with all Departmental Quality Policies and Procedures.
