Job Description

Overview:

Lead and manage all sanitation and pest control programs for the facility. This role is responsible for standardizing, improving, and sustaining sanitation systems, cleaning processes, and related documentation. Drive sanitation efficiency by developing standard work, optimizing cleaning methods, improving line changeovers, and supporting reductions in total delivered cost.


Job Duties:

• Lead all facility sanitation and pest control programs, including MSS, CIP/COP, and environmental cleaning.

• Maintain and update the Master Sanitation Schedule, ensuring alignment with Production and Maintenance.

• Develop, validate, and maintain SSOPs with clear, visual work instructions for all equipment and processes.

• Manage chemical usage, labeling, inventory, and service provider visits; ensure action items are closed.

• Oversee cleaning validation programs, including pre-op inspections, ATP testing, internal audits, and CIP verification.

• Provide sanitation and chemical safety training; maintain SDS compliance and chemical storage standards.

• Manage the pest control program, ensuring complete documentation and follow-up on all corrective actions.

• Drive sanitation continuous improvement, collaborating with QA, Operations, and corporate teams to optimize methods and reduce risk.

• Supervise sanitation technicians, including scheduling, performance management, coaching, and daily oversight.

• Support compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal standards while improving sanitation efficiency and hygienic conditions.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; or HS/equivalent with relevant sanitation/plant operations experience.

• 3–5 years of food manufacturing sanitation experience plus 1–3 years of supervisory experience.

• Strong experience with CIP/COP, SSOPs, audits, and environmental sanitation (floors, drains, equipment, structure).

• Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, cleaning chemistry, sanitary design, and allergen/wet/dry cleaning methods.

• Ability to lead teams, train staff, manage documentation, and collaborate cross-functionally.

• PCQI certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months; dairy experience preferred.
