Statement of Purpose:
The purchasing manager will handle the company procurement and inventory activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage daily purchasing activities and inventory control
- Maintain a supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation
- Maintain a good rapport with the company’s clientele
- Coordinate inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs
- Work to improve inventory processes and efficiencies
- Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications
- Assist in tracking of inventory
- Manage the incoming label approval process
- Manage cycle count process
- May be called upon to assist with special projects and assume responsibility for the development, administration, and promotion of project
- Other duties as requested
COMPETENCIES AND KNOWLEDGE
· Excellent oral and written communication skill

· Knowledge of excel, word and other databases with the ability to analyze data related to production efficiencies

· Collaborates effectively with other internal resources, as well as external resources
· Spanish bi-lingual skill preferred
Educational/ Experience:
The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Logistics or similar relevant field. At least three years prior experience in the purchasing department in the manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of the market conditions and trends preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
This person must be motivated and be able to follow directions and complete tasks effectively. Thus, they must have initiative, organization and dependability. This person must be able to handle stressful situations in a busy office environment. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and regularly walk and stand, and sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time. This position requires the employee to work closely with managers, supervisors, production staff, drivers and outside organizational contacts, so teamwork and effective communication skills are very important. Be able to effectively communicate orally, in person and over the telephone, and in writing. The employee must be able to, with or without accommodation, work in all facilities within the requirements of this job description.
