Job Description Shape the night shift that keeps our lines running
At ConMet’s Canton, NC facility, you’ll be the go-to expert when molding presses and assembly equipment need attention. Picture this: a molding machine throws an alarm at 2:17 a.m.—you’re already on the move, isolating the issue, reading the prints, and getting production back online.
Role snapshot: Perform maintenance and repairs on injection molding and assembly equipment, tackle both reactive and preventive work, and help drive continuous improvement across the plant.
What you’ll take on
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of injection molding and assembly mechanical systems
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance to improve reliability and uptime
- Support continuous improvement projects and participate in root cause analysis
- Observe and comply with all company rules and regulations, including the NFPA 70E Arc Flash PPE and procedures
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions
Schedule
This is a 12-hour night shift position.
What helps you succeed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred
- 2+ years of maintenance mechanic experience preferred; mechanical aptitude considered in lieu of direct experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
- Proficient with hand and power tools for repairs and installations
- Background in field service, hydraulic systems, or industrial electrician work is a plus
- Solid working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
