Commercial Escrow Officer
Reno & Cavanaugh, PLLC, a law firm with offices in Washington, DC, Nashville, TN, Columbia, MD and New
York, NY, seeks a Commercial Escrow Officer for the real estate practice in our Washington, DC, Columbia, MD,
or Nashville, TN office.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a
fast-paced environment. Candidates must be able to work well both independently and collaboratively in a
deadline-driven environment. Candidate will work on complex high-liability commercial real estate deals across
multiple states. Strong administrative, time management, and communication skills are required.
As a Commercial Escrow Officer, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Open and manage commercial escrow files, ensuring all documents and parties are accurately reflected.
2. Review and understand title commitments, purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, and closing
instructions.
3. Prepare and balance basic settlement statements, working toward independence with complex
disbursements.
4. Coordinate document execution and collection from all transaction parties (buyers, sellers, attorneys,
lenders, brokers).
5. Communicate professionally with clients and internal teams to provide updates and assist with transaction
questions.
6. Assist with clearing title issues, collecting due diligence items, and obtaining payoff and release
documentation.
7. Manage wire disbursements and post-closing tasks in accordance with escrow procedures and security
policies.
8. Support recording processes by preparing and submitting documents to local jurisdictions, ensuring
accuracy and follow-up.
9. Issue final title policies and closing packages in collaboration with the post-closing and title teams.
10. Maintain organized and compliant escrow files in line with firm standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Experience:
1. Two to four years in commercial title underwriting with experience in DC, MD, VA, or TN transactions.
2. Candidates should be comfortable working in a large professional environment and have working
knowledge of Microsoft Office and title production and escrow software (e.g. SoftPro Select and Rynoh).
3. Active underwriter license(s) in DC, MD, VA, or TN preferred.
4. In-depth knowledge of commercial title insurance practices, escrow, ALTA standards, and legal
documentation.

This full-time position is 5 days a week in the office, with an option to work a hybrid schedule of 4 days a week in
the office after 1 year. May require overtime during peak periods or to meet deadlines. Time worked in excess of
40 hours per week will be paid at time and one-half of the hourly rate.
