POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Marketing position assumes primary responsibility for expanding market share and improving name recognition and image of St. Joseph Medical Center (SJMC). This position is also responsible for driving marketing initiatives to increase patient acquisition, improve brand awareness, foster relationships within the healthcare community, and promote medical services. Plans and implement advertising activities with specific outcomes in mind. They manage digital/print campaigns, social media, community outreach events and market research to drive hospital growth and ensure compliance with healthcare marketing standards. This role requires a balance of strategic planning and hands-on execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service
- Responsible for hospital market enhancements and rollouts.
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to enhance hospital visibility.
- Design and execute campaigns to attract new patients and retain existing ones.
- Analyze market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Manage digital marketing initiatives including social media and email campaigns.
- Keep up to date on competitive and market conditions and proactively react to changes and opportunities in the marketplace.
- Serves as spokesperson for media relations.
- Coordinate special events, health fairs, and community outreach programs.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
- Work closely with the executive team to handle public relations and media communications.
People
- Take an active role to positively affect employee satisfaction within the department and hospital.
- Build relationships with doctors, community leaders and the media.
Quality
- Support, review, and understand JCAHO's compliance activities and expectations.
- Ensure departmental compliance with JCAHO standards.
- Supportive of the compliance program set forth by HSA and demonstrated by:
- Upholds the Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance.
- Adheres to dealing appropriately and fairly with employee misconduct.
- Enforces all compliance policies as they pertain to his/her area.
- Provides and assures timely compliance education as requested by the Compliance Officer and/or through corporate initiatives.
- Consistently supports the hospital's Spirit of Serving Standards, in line with the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Joseph Medical Center (SJMC).
- Follows the SJMC Guidelines related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Growth
- Partner with operations and clinical leadership to identify, develop, and market new service lines.
- Develop target market plans for high-value services to increase local and regional market visibility.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to identify opportunities for growth.
- Manage marketing budgets to prioritize initiatives that yield the highest return on investment.
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve business objectives, increasing the hospital's market share.
- Partner with strategy and operations teams to identify opportunities for program growth and expansion into new geographic areas.
- Drive pipeline growth through integrated digital campaigns, content amplification, and digital media.
- Establish consistent contact with potential referral sources.
Finance
- Develop and manage the annual budget.
- Provide oversight of all marketing projects and special events.
- Promotes stewardship of hospital resources.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Experience
- 2 – 4 years of professional marketing experience in healthcare.
- Proficiency in digital marketing.
Skills

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.
- 5 plus years of professional marketing experience in healthcare.
