Job Title: Banking Operations Analyst / Lending Operations
Location: Johnston, RI- Onsite
Duration: 3 Months (Possible Extension)
Pay Rate: $21.15/hr W2
Onsite - works 5 days in the office
Position Overview
The Business Support Specialist provides research and analytical support for lending account reviews. This role focuses on recreating loan account histories, reviewing payment activity, and verifying financial data to support internal banking operations. The position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to perform repetitive analytical tasks in a structured environment.
Work is primarily internal and does not involve customer interaction, with collaboration focused on internal team members and peer quality control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Recreate and verify loan account histories and account statements using available internal records.
- Review and interpret periodic account statements to confirm payment activity and loan status.
- Conduct research on loan accounts and credit lines to analyze payment and debit history.
- Identify and validate first delinquency dates based on payment activity and transaction records.
- Perform high-volume data entry using locked Microsoft Excel templates (no formula editing required).
- Complete basic calculations such as adding and subtracting payment activity during account review.
- Self-assign 20–100 accounts daily from an internal work queue and manage workload efficiently.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal documentation guidelines.
- Perform peer Quality Control (QC) by reviewing other team members’ work for accuracy and completeness.
- Document findings and maintain organized records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Communicate internally using Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and email to ask questions, provide feedback, and coordinate with team members.
- Work collaboratively with peers to ensure consistent quality and process adherence.
Required Skills and Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in data entry, banking operations, financial services, or administrative processing roles.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment managing multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Clear and professional internal communication skills via email and collaboration tools.
- Experience performing research and analysis of customer or financial account information.
- Comfortable handling high-volume processing tasks with consistent accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with loan servicing, lending operations, or payment processing terminology.
- Experience reviewing financial statements, account histories, or payment records.
- Prior experience performing quality control or peer review work.
- Background in banking operations, loan servicing, or financial account processing.
Training and Onboarding
- Structured training program provided, including detailed SOPs and workflow guidance.
- Training includes hands-on instruction for account research and data verification.
- Peer Quality Control (QC) is incorporated into onboarding and ongoing workflow to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
