About the Role:
The Clinical Nutrition Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and advancing the nutritional care services within a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for managing a team of dietitians and nutritionists to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nutritional care tailored to patient needs. The manager collaborates closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement nutrition protocols that support patient recovery and wellness. Additionally, the role involves monitoring compliance with regulatory standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. Ultimately, the Clinical Nutrition Manager ensures that nutrition services contribute effectively to the overall healthcare mission while fostering a supportive and educational environment for staff and patients alike.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential and current licensure as required by the state.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nutrition experience in a healthcare setting.
- Proven experience in supervising or managing clinical nutrition staff.
- Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, clinical guidelines, and healthcare regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline.
- Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) or other specialty certifications.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and nutrition software.
- Demonstrated success in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Familiarity with research methodologies and participation in clinical nutrition research projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of clinical dietitians and nutrition staff to deliver comprehensive nutrition care.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nutrition care plans and protocols in collaboration with medical and nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies related to nutrition services.
- Manage departmental budgets, resources, and scheduling to optimize operational efficiency and patient care quality.
- Conduct staff training, performance evaluations, and professional development activities to maintain a skilled and knowledgeable team.
- Analyze patient nutrition data and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate nutrition care into overall patient treatment plans.
- Participate in quality improvement projects and contribute to research or educational initiatives within the clinical nutrition field.
