Job Description

Join a highly specialized production team focused on Powder Metallurgy (PM), Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP), and Powder Blending operations. In this role, you will perform precision TIG welding on a range of high-performance alloys used in demanding, high-temperature and high-pressure applications. You will apply your 6G-level welding expertise in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment that prioritizes safety, quality, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision TIG welding on high-performance alloys used in powder metallurgy, HIP, and powder blending operations.
  • Apply 6G-level welding techniques to fabricate components that meet high-temperature and high-pressure service requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and weld procedure specifications (WPS) to plan and execute welding operations accurately.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools, including TIG machines and related hand tools, to ensure consistent weld quality.
  • Use strong mechanical aptitude to support fabrication and machine building activities as needed.
  • Work with carbon steel and other alloys, ensuring proper weld procedures and alloy compatibility.
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy and tight tolerances throughout the welding and fabrication process.
  • Follow applicable welding codes and standards, such as ASME Section IX and AWS specifications, to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Utilize argon purging and autogenous welding techniques where required by procedures or specifications.
  • Inspect welds visually and dimensionally, identifying and correcting defects to meet quality requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with team members in a highly team-oriented environment to complete production tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Follow all safety protocols and best practices in a controlled manufacturing setting to maintain a safe work area.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on processes, tools, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and a strong commitment to teamwork to meet production goals and deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of TIG welding experience, preferably in high-temperature or high-pressure component fabrication.
  • 6G welding certification (highly preferred).
  • AWS welding certification (preferred).
  • Experience in nuclear or pressure welding environments.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and weld procedure specifications (WPS).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain dimensional accuracy under tight tolerances.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Knowledge of ASME Section IX, AWS welding codes, or equivalent welding standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude to support fabrication, machine building, and related tasks.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding on carbon steel and other high-performance alloys.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with argon purging techniques.
  • Experience with autogenous welding processes.
  • Ability to use hand tools and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
  • Experience with MIG welding and general fabrication is beneficial.
  • Comfort working from detailed blueprints and mechanical drawings in a production environment.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility focused on precision welding and advanced powder metallurgy processes. The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with 5–7 hours of overtime required as business needs dictate. The environment is highly team-oriented, where collaboration, mutual support, attendance, and reliability are essential to success. You will use modern welding equipment, hand tools, and fabrication machinery in a setting that emphasizes safety, quality, and consistent process control.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mc Donald, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $58.00/hr.
