TITLE: Communications Manager
REPORTS TO: Kathy Pham
DATE: October 2025
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, 20-25 hrs/wk
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

● Additionally, we may ask all part-time staff, as requested and when available, to: ○ Actively disciple others towards integrated lives of loving God, loving one another and loving our neighbors
○ Participate in meetings as requested to provide support and leadership to our congregation
○ Participate or lead staff devotions, prayers and celebrations
○ Participate in staff development and enrichment activities to grow in Christlike character and various competencies as requested
○ Participate in “all hands on deck” events to represent and serve the greater needs of our community
○ Provide presence and support on Sundays as requested
○ Perform baptisms as requested
○ Facilitate communion as requested
○ Provide teaching and equipping as requested
○ Provide short term counseling/support as requested
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Communications Manager executes the vision and strategy of all Flood Church communications. This role ensures consistent, clear, and creative messaging across digital, print, and in-person platforms—helping people connect with Jesus, engage in community, and participate in God’s mission.
DUTIES:
Sunday Communications:
- Oversee all Sunday gathering communications (print, slides, verbal announcements).
- Create, print and distribute the weekly Sunday Flyer.
- Participate in message series branding.
- Coordinate with staff to feature ministry opportunities.
- Schedule Sunday Hosts and draft copy for Sunday Hosts.
- Participate in weekly Staff Meetings and Production Meetings and collaborate on key communication items.
- Relay promotional slide context to Sunday producer.
Digital & Online Presence:
- Capture photos and videos
- Maintain and manage Flood’s website, ensuring content is current, functional, and aligned with priorities.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure a cohesive digital voice and visual identity.
- Manage church-wide email lists in church database (CCB).
- Work with the teaching pastor to create and send a weekly email to Flood members.
- Plan, create, and send all-church emails regarding critical communication and promotion of upcoming events and special campaigns.
- Oversee Flood’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), including strategy, content creation, posting, and engagement.
- Monitor analytics, SEO, and engagement metrics to guide strategy.
- Work with Community Boost, who oversees our google ads, splash pages, etc.
Branding & Marketing:
- Uphold and implement Flood’s brand identity and style guide.
- Capture and share stories of hope and transformation within the Flood community.
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives to support church growth and outreach.
- Update Yelp and Google page etc.
Events & Initiatives:
- Oversee promotional communication for all-church events and initiatives (e.g., Easter, Christmas, Fall Launch, Flood Rally, Groups Launch, etc.).
- Submit the graphics request for all-church events.
- Manage event promotion through print, digital, and social channels.
- Support registration systems, landing pages, and online advertising.
- Provide on-site communications support as needed.
Qualifications

- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, and digital platforms.
- Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and attention to detail.
- Experience in communications, marketing, or related fields preferred.
Work Expectations
- Part-time, 20-25 hours/week
Weekly Schedule: -
- Hybrid schedule: Monday and Wednesday
- Mandatory On-Site: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday
- Check-Ins with Supervisor
Physical Requirements
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing, etc.
- Ability to lift, carry, or push up to 50 pounds and engage in physical activities
