\n\nJob Description\n

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is effectively followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, guiding them in providing exceptional patient care.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

  • Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized care plan.
  • \n

  • Identify educational needs for patients and families, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to set goals.
  • \n

  • Provide timely patient information during Initial Team Conferences and weekly Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
  • \n

  • Document all assessments, interventions, and responses in accordance with policy, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • \n

  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on the nursing process to deliver effective patient care.
  • \n

  • Initiate discharge planning upon admission and begin patient teaching activities in preparation for discharge.
  • \n

  • Communicate changes in patient status to all care providers to ensure continuity of care and safety.
  • \n

  • Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, promoting effective teamwork and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • \n

  • Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • \n

  • Engage in team-building activities to foster a positive and supportive unit atmosphere.
  • \n

  • Assume charge responsibilities after the orientation period as required.
  • \n

  • Actively pursue professional development opportunities, including continuing education and self-study.
  • \n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

    \n
  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • \n

  • ACLS certification required for specific locations prior to first shift.
  • \n

  • Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
