This position has a hybrid schedule, and the candidate must reside within San Antonio or the adjacent surrounding areas.


PRIMARY FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILITY

The Digital Marketing Specialist (DMS) plans, develops, and contributes to creative strategy and execution of digital and print marketing with the organizational mission in mind. The DMS will also be responsible for storytelling through visual content and mediums, implementing digital marketing campaigns, developing content, assisting at events and executing other marketing tasks as assigned.

The DMS should display a working familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, SharePoint, as well as all social media platforms. The candidate will also be detail oriented, a self-starter, social media savvy, a creative thinker, a team player, and a passionate content creator and storyteller.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Communications and Marketing Team (CMT) to develop and implement an integrated strategic marketing plan to advance brand identity and cohesiveness, broaden awareness of SJRC Texas | Belong, and increase visibility across key stakeholder audiences
  • Attend project-planning meetings with team members, contractors, supervisors, and other professionals.
  • Work with various teams, including SJRC Texas Family Resource Center, Regional Teams, Human Resources, Belong Programs, the Executive Team, Child Placing Agency, and Touchstone Residential Campus to align marketing efforts with nonprofit goals.
  • Manages schedule and communication with CMT and other teams as needed.

Marketing Strategy

  • Build out annual comprehensive marketing plan as it relates to campaigns, digital marketing, social media, print ad campaigns, Google Ads, Facebook Ad campaigns, and targeted emails in collaboration with VP of Communications and Marketing.
  • Monitor and measure the success of marketing campaigns, identifying trends, and providing insights to improve future strategies.
  • Develop and manage paid and in-kind print advertising.
  • Drive and implement marketing channel growth strategy to include email, all social media platforms, and paid media/advertising.
  • Drive and implement growth strategy for website with a goal of increasing clicks, site visits, overall web traffic, and SEO.

Content Creation Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce engaging content for websites, newsletters, social media, email blasts, and mailout campaigns, ensuring the content aligns with marketing goals and target audiences.
  • Plan, research, develop, and execute concepts/design for a variety of projects requiring graphic art, such as flyers, posters, brochures, and displays.
  • Create still pictures and videos (shooting and editing) for publication.
  • Create and schedule compelling and targeted content for social media platforms to include engaging with followers.
  • Create Annual Report in collaboration with the CMT.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Marketing/Digital Marketing

Preferred

  • 5+ years in nonprofit communications and digital marketing

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insurance.
  • Age minimum of 18 or 21 years of age per licensing standards.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND INFORMATION

  • This is a hybrid position based in San Antonio, TX. The role requires approximately 50% in-person presence, including regular on-site work in San Antonio, occasional on location work within the 27 counties surrounding Bexar, and attendance at organizational events as needed.
  • Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, and walk briskly to coordinate, plan, and participate in various types of campus and community events.
  • Stamina to work long days and drive long distances throughout our 28-county region.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 35 pounds unassisted and more with assistance.
  • Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions (with or without hearing aids).
  • Must have fine vision, sustained vision, and peripheral vision (with or without glasses).
  • Environment requires dexterity to remain calm and adapt to fast paced and emotional environments consisting of children with moderate to severe emotional and psychological needs.
  • Must be comfortable in-home setting with varying moderate to high degrees of background noise.
  • Campuses are smoke-free, except on permitted campuses in designated areas.
  • Possible injury when lifting or moving if an employee fails to use proper body mechanics, or if proper techniques are not used.
