Tax Manager: Forecasting & Strategic Tax Operations

We're seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead and enhance our tax forecasting and strategic tax operations function. This is a highly visible role that sits at the intersection of Tax, Finance, FP&A, and Executive Leadership, providing critical insights that influence business decisions, investor outcomes, and long-term growth strategies.
This position offers a unique opportunity to combine technical tax expertise with financial forecasting, business planning, transaction analysis, and executive-level communication in a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry.
Responsibilities:
- Own and continuously improve the company's tax forecasting process, including taxable income projections, cash tax forecasting, estimated tax payments, tax distributions, and allocation methodologies.
- Deliver timely and accurate tax forecasts that support business planning, investment decisions, and capital allocation strategies.
- Analyze forecast-to-actual results and communicate key trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
- Collaborate closely with FP&A, Finance, Accounting, and Tax teams to align tax forecasts with budgets, business plans, and long-range financial projections.
- Support strategic planning initiatives through scenario modeling, sensitivity analyses, and transaction impact assessments.
- Partner with tax planning and compliance teams to evaluate tax law changes and ensure forecasting assumptions remain current and accurate.
- Prepare and review investor tax reporting deliverables and supporting analyses.
- Serve as a trusted resource for tax-related questions from investors and internal stakeholders.
- Present tax forecasts, results, and strategic insights to senior leadership and key decision-makers.
- Develop scalable processes and reporting tools that improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
- Leverage systems such as Oracle and OneStream to automate data collection, reporting, and forecasting activities.
- Own complex quarterly tax calculations and analyses that support both forecasting and compliance functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive tax experience.
- CPA, Master's in Taxation, or equivalent advanced tax credentials.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state income tax principles impacting partnerships, corporations, and investors.
- Experience with partnership taxation and complex ownership structures.
- Background in energy, infrastructure, power, real estate, manufacturing, or other capital-intensive industries.
- Experience in tax forecasting, financial modeling, tax provision, or other tax-adjacent finance functions.
- Proven ability to communicate complex tax concepts to executive and non-tax audiences.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience working with financial systems such as Oracle, OneStream, and advanced Excel modeling.
