Position Summary:
The sanitation associate is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and janitorial tasks in order to keep Asher’s Chocolates a high quality, clean, and safe work environment for Asher’s employees and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintains plant cleanliness.
2. Utilizes cleaning and sanitizing tools to maintain sanitary conditions in production areas without equipment damage or safety incidents in accordance with established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
3. Cleans framework of machines and deep cleans in specified areas, steam cleans. production belts and equipment and completes other assigned tasks as required on master sanitation schedule.
4. Complies with all food safety and quality assurance standards (GMP and Food Safety, etc.)
5. Performs other housekeeping and/or janitorial tasks including trash/waste removal, facility grounds keeping activities.
6. Maintains a positive attitude when interacting with other Asher’s team members and customers.
7. May be assigned other jobs by plant management as required.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
1. Continuously walk, stand, sit, squat, or kneel over an 8 hour shift.
2. The ability to walk over various working surfaces including carpeting, hard wood, and concrete floors is required.
3. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience:
Previous experience performing sanitation, or work in food service preferred, but not required
Knowledge and Skills:
1.Must possess the knowledge and understanding of good manufacturing practices, as well as HACCP standards
2.Must be reliable and detail oriented
