Dredge Operator — McCook Concrete | McCook, NE
This position is located in McCook, NE. Relocation or commute required.
McCook Concrete is hiring a Dredge Operator for our aggregate pit operation. This is an outdoor, hands-on position with a straightforward daily mission: keep the dredge running, keep the material moving, and leave the site better than you found it.
What the job actually looks like: Most of your shift you'll be running a floating dredge — monitoring the machine, managing output, and keeping things dialed in for maximum efficiency. It's independent work. You're out on the water, running your equipment, and you own the results. When the dredge is down or between cycles, you'll transition to operating a payloader — loading haul trucks, managing stockpiles, and keeping the site clean and organized.
What we need from you:
- A strong work ethic and the desire to learn a skilled trade
- Mechanical curiosity — you don't need to know this equipment yet, but you need to want to understand it
- Attention to detail and the ability to stay focused during independent work
- Commitment to safety and documentation — this is an MSHA-regulated site, and compliance is non-negotiable, every day, no exceptions
- Dependability — show up, do the pre-op checks, maintain the site
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
Prior heavy equipment experience is welcome but not required. If you're a hard worker ready to learn a unique trade — we'll teach you the rest.
Schedule & Pay:
- Monday–Friday | No nights, no weekends
- $20–$23/hour depending on experience
- Weekly pay
