Dietary Host Job Description
A Dietary Host is responsible for serving meals, managing beverage service, and ensuring a clean, welcoming dining environment for residents or guests in a care or residential setting
Core Responsibilities

Meal service: Place prepared meals on trays and deliver them to residents’ units.

Beverage service: Set up and serve hot and cold drinks from the beverage cart.

Table setup: Arrange trays and dining areas before meals.

Cleanup: Remove used dishes after residents finish eating.

Kitchen/dishroom maintenance: Sweep, mop floors, and ensure cleanliness.

Dish handling: Break down carts, load dirty dishes into the dish machine, and return clean dishes to storage.

Team coordination: Duties are often shared among a small team (e.g., three people) to cover different shifts.
Work Environment

Setting: Senior living facilities, care centers, or residential dining halls.

Schedule: Part-time, with opportunities for days, evenings, or weekends

Team: Works alongside kitchen staff, dietary aides, and other hosts.
