Degree in Radiologic Technology, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Ultrasound certification, and minimum 1+ years Imaging experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Ultrasound Technologist with strong skills in OB anatomy, breast, and general ultrasound imaging. This contract position is based in Fort Wainwright, Alaska, offering a dynamic role that combines inpatient and outpatient settings while working alongside a dedicated healthcare team.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years total ultrasound technician experience, including outpatient setting expertise
- Proficient in OB anatomy, breast, and general ultrasound procedures
- Preferred experience with musculoskeletal, vascular (venous studies), and neonatal head and hip imaging
- Skilled in order review and protocol assistance in outpatient settings
- ARDMS or ARRT certification in Ultrasound required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory
- Travel experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to float between inpatient and outpatient departments
- Must reside 50+ miles outside of Fairbanks and provide two supervisor references
Schedule and Shift Details:
- Three 12-hour shifts per week, variable days (typically Thursday and Friday 6:45 AM 7:15 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM 7:00 PM)
- On-call shifts include one 24-hour shift per week (usually Tuesday) and one rotating weekend shift every six weeks, with additional variable on-call as needed
- Weekend and holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
