Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers two openings for Special Education Teachers at an educational institution located in West Helena, AR, serving both elementary and high school levels. Successful candidates will work in a self-contained setting with manageable caseloads, supporting students with individualized needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students in a self-contained classroom environment.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 15 students, adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning requirements.
- Provide pull-out services and coordinate with other classes when students require additional support.
- Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Utilize a planning period effectively to prepare lessons and monitor student progress.
- Maintain clear communication with parents, caregivers, and colleagues regarding student development.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with students in self-contained settings preferred.
- Strong ability to engage and support students across elementary or high school levels.
- Effective classroom management skills and experience developing IEPs.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a school environment.
Schedule and Location:
- Full-time contract position.
- Position based at a campus in West Helena, AR.
- Hours approximately 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
- Includes a designated planning period for lesson preparation and administrative tasks.
