SUMMARY

The position of Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing data and using all resources available to determine and provide insight for product manufacturing, projects, or services. This individual will be communicating with various departments to generate work products and present to upper management. Although this position is taken place in an office environment, it is expected that the Financial Analyst is highly familiar with all production operations and physical inventory.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop procurement staff, including Buyers and Senior Buyers
  • Set priorities, and balance resources to meet program and production demands
  • Provide guidance on complex procurements involving long lead times, technical specifications, and regulated materials
  • Support performance management, coaching, and corrective action when required
  • Review and approve weekly timecards.
  • Review and approve time off requests

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Construct, validate, and monitor data accumulation for financial reporting.
  • Provide cost analysis results to assist senior management in decision making or other financial initiatives.
  • Perform variance analysis between actual and budgeted costs.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on inventory valuation, production and various other costs.
  • Generate reports, provide analysis, and draft thorough responses to support audit requests.
  • Provide ad hoc assistance to Site Management, Corporate, and other functions.
  • Provide productivity analysis.
  • Support monthly close cycles, account reconciliations and revenue recognition.
  • Review and analyze product margins for all customers and projects and support Sales department with timely reports.
  • Review reporting for trends, investigate abnormalities, and provide recommendations for correction.
  • Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products.
  • Review and reconcile monthly manufacturing cost activity during monthly close cycle to support ASC 606 percentage of completion revenue recognition.
  • Partner with Program Management to document and gain understanding of program performance trends.
  • Support development of annual operating plan, monthly/quarterly forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain Spend Plans to support program milestone billings.
  • Assist in financial chart creation for purposes of briefing senior leadership on site performance.
  • Validate inventory cost reporting.
  • Operate in a dynamic environment with competing priorities, while maintaining high level of attention to detail.
  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and documentation.
  • Ability to observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources.
  • Being able to identify the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Use relevant information and individual judgement to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience as financial analyst or related role
  • Relevant experience in the defense industry desirable, with working knowledge of FAR/DFARS
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, emphasis on the ability to refine complex issues into understandable formats to all levels of the organization
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel required: Up to 25%. This will include local and out of state supplier visits.
