Full Time (40 hours), fully on-site – 960 hours
Johnson Service Group is seeking an Accountant with general ledger, bank reconciliation, and payroll experience for a client in San Jose. This role is responsible for managing and reconciling financial records, supporting payroll processing, handling invoices, and preparing financial reports and audit support. The ideal candidate ensures compliance with policies, assists with budgeting and year-end activities, and provides support to staff and vendors as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process credit card transactions; verify accuracy and proper account coding
- Process daily receipts; deposit checks; scan and upload supporting documentation to the accounting network
- Prepare journal entries for reclasses, property taxes, cash receipts, and other revenue activities
- Process general invoices related to leased properties and requests from other departments
- Review timesheets and timesheet adjustments for upcoming pay periods
- Enter transactions and correct data errors in the Infor Payroll system
- Process employee expense reimbursements and credit card transactions in accordance with policy
- Handle payroll-related items including garnishments, stipends, and union dues
- Assist in formatting bank ACH files using Infor MHC
- Respond to payroll and accounting inquiries from staff and external customers
- Maintain filing and archiving of payroll and accounting documentation
- Support Financial Planning & Management Services and general accounting functions
- Provide customer service support to internal and external stakeholders
Learning Objectives:
- Gain understanding of revenue collection processes and recording
- Develop experience reviewing and approving employee expense and payroll-related transactions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Three (3) years of experience in the processing and maintenance of accounting records in the areas of accounts payable, payroll, or general ledger support
- Knowledge of basic and governmental accounting principles
- Experience with ERP systems (Infor preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Customer service-oriented mindset
- Dedicated, persistent, detail-oriented, and willing to learn

- Assignment includes support for payroll system upgrade (Payroll Accounting Tech backfill)
- Equipment provided: Laptop, Office 365, Headset
Pay Rate: $35.78/hour
