Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Bring your passion for supporting students to a fulfilling paraprofessional opportunity working with learners from Pre-K through 8th grade. This contract role provides the chance to make a lasting impact in a school community while working a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00am to 3:30pm.
Candidates should be comfortable providing academic, emotional, and behavioral support alongside classroom teachers. You will assist with instructional activities, ensure student safety, and participate in individual or small-group guidance. As a trusted team member, your encouragement helps foster a nurturing environment where all students can thrive.
Qualifications:
- 60 college credits or a Paraprofessional certificate (certification may be completed during assignment)
- Genuine interest in working with school-age children from diverse backgrounds
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Patience, adaptability, and a supportive attitude
- Prior experience in educational or childcare settings is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional support and classroom management
- Provide one-on-one or small group guidance based on student needs
- Support students with varying abilities—academically, socially, and emotionally
- Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations as directed
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, and recess as needed
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and respectful atmosphere for all
