Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room procedures to provide expert care in a fast-paced surgical environment. This contract role requires strong skills in open heart surgeries and advanced cardiac support, with responsibilities centered on perioperative nursing in plex cardiovascular cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide perioperative nursing care during open heart surgeries including CABG, valve replacements and repairs, aortic dissections, and other chest surgeries such as thoracotomies and VATS.
- Scrub directly in the surgical field with proficiencythis role mandates scrubbing, no exceptions.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outes.
- Respond promptly to call within 30 minutes to handle urgent cases.
- Maintain pliance with all required certifications including ACLS, BLS.
- Utilize advanced skills in ECMO, LVAD, and Impella support devices.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with proven Cardiovascular OR experience.
- Previous open heart surgery cases required; first-time travelers without open heart OR experience will not be considered.
- Experience with robotic-assisted chest surgeries desirable.
- Ability to pass mandated Pass Fail EKG exam.
- Flexible and reliable with a strong mitment to punctuality and attendance.
Schedule/Hours:
- 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- On-call required with a strict 30-minute response.
