Why This Job – PAYROLL CLERK (Part-Time):
This is a great opportunity to support a smooth-running biweekly payroll for a multi-unit entity across several states in the Western US. You’ll be part of a tight-knit team that values accuracy, communication, and positivity. With a part-time structure (20–30 hrs/week), this role is ideal for someone looking for work-life balance while staying engaged in meaningful, high-impact payroll operations. NOTE – payroll week schedule is firm.
What You’ll Actually Do:
• Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll for 400–500 hourly employees (some salary)
• Ensure compliance with strict payroll deadlines (Wednesdays by 3 PM MT)
• Maintain payroll accuracy across multiple states and locations (yes, California too)
• Process payroll in ADP Workforce Now and run various reports in Excel
• Answer payroll-related questions from internal employees
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
• 2–3 years of payroll experience processing a minimum of 300 employees
• Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs required)
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
• Experience with multi-jurisdiction (including CA) and multi-unit payroll a plus
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Retail, restaurant, or multi-unit industry experience a bonus
Where and How Much:
• Target pay: $22–$32/hour (flexible for top talent)
• Schedule: Non-payroll weeks: ~20 hrs/week, flexible schedule. Payroll weeks: ~30 hrs/week, M–W (firm schedule)
• Location: Remote, with preference for Denver or Dallas-based candidates
