Job Description

We’re hiring a soldering specialist to join a growing electronics manufacturing team! This role is ideal for someone with a steady hand, a sharp eye for detail, and proven experience in precision soldering. As a key member of the production team, you will assemble, inspect, and rework electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) while maintaining the highest quality standards.


Location: Plymouth, MN


Wage: Up to $22.10 per hour, depending on experience


Hours: 6:30 am - 4 pm Monday - Thursday, 7 am - 11 am, Friday

Duties of the soldering specialist:

  • Perform through-hole and surface-mount soldering on PCBs and assemblies
  • Assemble and rework boards, cables, and subassemblies per schematics and work instructions
  • Inspect and correct solder joints to meet IPC-A-610 Class 2 or 3 standards
  • Repair and rework assemblies as directed by engineering or quality teams
  • Maintain an organized, ESD-safe work area and accurate production records
  • Use testing tools (multimeters, continuity testers) to verify functionality
  • Support continuous improvement and assist in training team member

Requirements of the soldering specialist:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2–4 years of professional soldering experience in electronics manufacturing
  • Skilled in hand soldering and rework of fine-pitch and SMD components
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Ability to read assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials
  • Experience with ESD-safe practices


Preferred qualifications:

  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification
  • Experience with both leaded and lead-free soldering
  • Familiarity with conformal coating, wire harnessing, or mechanical assembly
  • Basic understanding of electronic components and circuit functionality
