A new 90-bed acute care hospital opening Spring 2026 in Gainesville, FL is hiring an Occupational Therapist to join its inpatient team, which includes a dedicated 30-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit. The facility will offer comprehensive emergency services and advanced surgical care to the Gainesville community.
The role. The Occupational Therapist works closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team to evaluate each patient's functional abilities and develop individualized therapy plans tailored to their goals and recovery needs. Day-to-day, you will deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions designed to promote healing, independence, and quality of life, while monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed. Documentation is a core part of the role, with an emphasis on timely, thorough charting that reflects patient outcomes. You will educate patients and families to build confidence and engagement throughout the recovery process, and collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to support safe, seamless transitions of care. The position also involves providing guidance to therapy assistants or students as opportunities arise.
What we're looking for.
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy vocational/professional program required
- Active Florida Occupational Therapist license required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- 1+ years of occupational therapy experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply
Schedule. Days with rotating weekends, core hours 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; specific start times are staggered based on unit needs.
Compensation. $32.52 - $32.52/hr plus Sign on: $20k Relocation Assistance: Case by Case
