Summary

Under the direction of the Program Director, this position maintains the residential areas of the facility, keeping rooms and group spaces clean and pleasant and in a serviceable condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Role model appropriate healthy and ethical behaviors in all interactions, including HIPAA and Confidentiality standards.

2. Has resident rooms clean and neat in anticipation of arriving residents.

3. Assists residents in keeping their rooms clean and presentable.

4. Maintains adequate linen inventory and keeping inventory in proper repair.

5. Distributes clean linens.

6. Supervises cleaning of public areas of the facility.

7. Selects and requisitions all cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping supplies.

8. Stores and dispenses supplies as needed, avoiding waste.

9. Maintains adequate inventory of housekeeping equipment; requisitions replacements and repairs of such equipment.

10. Collects and stores used and serviceable clothing, dispensing as needed.

11. Stores departing residents’ clothing per program guidelines.

12. Inspects, salvages, and disposes of overdue clothing and property per program guidelines.

13. Drives Agency vehicles when necessary to transport residents or deliver supplies.

14. Familiarity and adherence to all regulatory expectations and ethical standards and Agency policies and procedures, including the Agency’s Core Beliefs.

15. Answer the phone as needed and fill out referral and screening forms, as applicable, fully and correctly.

16. Attend program staff meetings as required, agency meetings as mandated, and on-site and off-site trainings as directed.

17. Assist in ensuring a safe and alcohol/drug-free environment.

18. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Credential, Education, and Experience

1. Hotel housekeeping training or experience.

2. High School diploma or GED.

Language and Communication Skills

1. Ability to read and write English fluently.

2. Ability to supervise residents and delegate duties.

Other Requirements

1. Knowledge of 12-Step programs and/or philosophy.

2. Current CPR and First Aid Certifications.

3. A valid government-issued picture ID.

4. If employee uses his/her personal vehicle to commute to work and/or parks on Agency property, a current California driver’s license is required.

a. If employee has an out-of-state driver’s license, he/she must attain a valid California license no later than 10 days from employment start date.

b. Must maintain current liability insurance coverage on personal vehicle.

c. On occasion, employee may be asked to use their personal vehicle to transport participants/residents to offsite appointments. Standard mileage rate will be reimbursed as applicable.

5. If employee uses an Agency-owned vehicle to transport residents/participants to offsite appointments, a current California driver’s license is required.

a. If employee has an out-of-state driver’s license, he/she must attain a valid California license no later than 10 days from employment start date.
