JOB SUMMARY:

The PowerSchool Specialist plays an integral rose in the administration of the school and is primarily responsible for the integrity and smooth operation of the school’s Student Information System. The PowerSchool Specialist manages the school’s student information system (PowerSchool), runs queries to extract information, and trains/supports users, working closely with all stakeholders at the school.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Set up security access, system settings, and staff, student, and parent access.

· Handle yearly processes, e.g. set up of new school year, rollover, closeout school year.

· Graduate students, course sections, and coordinate with other staff to complete project efficiently.

· Provide assistant in all areas of student information: developing attendance reporting formats, grade reporting, scheduling, test reporting, enrolling and withdrawing of students in the software system.

· Work directly with teachers in the use of the electronic grade book system, including training.

· Establish protocols for data entry and system usage, and document them in user/procedures manual.

· Conduct advanced searches and queries and support special requests from the administration or faculty.

· Manage and prepare all academic reports, including progress report, report card, and regular academic progress updates.

· Recommend system improvements.

· Train and orient new users and support all users, establishing needs and monitoring usage.

· Ensure accuracy of data and troubleshoot problems with the database, including data validation issues.

· Troubleshoot operational and software problems, determine the cause of error or stoppage, and apply corrective techniques or obtain support from PowerSchool.

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS

· Graduated from high school.

· Two years of direct, hands-on experience with PowerSchool preferred.

· Clerical and customer service experience preferred.

· Exceptional detail-oriented work habits with strong organizational skills.

· Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills.

· Strong knowledge of the G Suite (Google docs, forms, sheets, etc.)

SALARY AND BENEFITS

· This is a full-time position.

· Employer provided medical, vision, and dental benefits for employee.

· Salary $22.69/hr. to $40.29/hr. – Dependent on related work experience.
