Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring scrubbing ability, ACLS/BLS certifications, and prior Cath Lab experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Details
- Work in a 2-suite Cardiac Cath Lab within an acute care hospital setting
- Patient population includes diagnostic left and right heart caths, PCI, IABP, Impella, temporary pacemakers, TCAR, EVAR, EKOS, AIF, IVC filters, Infusaports, Permacaths, and vascular surgery procedures (filters, venograms)
- Averages 10+ cases per day
- Charting system: Epic (used in position); Siemens software and imaging equipment also used
- Monday–Friday day schedule; shift length is 8 hours with start and stop times subject to case volume and scheduling
- On-call required: up to 7 days per 4-week schedule; travelers may split call days to equal one week per 4-week period
- Weeknight call: one full week (Monday 7 AM to following Monday 7 AM) per 4-week schedule; any hours off the clock during that week are considered on-call
- Weekend call: Friday after hours through Monday 7 AM (for travelers not on the Monday–Monday call rotation)
- Holiday call: rotational
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- No mandatory floating; optional float to other units is available for those with applicable experience
Requirements
- Active WV or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required
- Must be able to scrub and assist physicians using sterile technique
- Prior experience with Cath Lab procedures strongly preferred
- Siemens equipment experience is a plus
- EKOS experience preferred; training available for qualified candidates
Additional Information
- RNs are responsible for circulating, moderate sedation/conscious sedation, and completing all documentation requirements
- Surgical attire is provided; personal lead is not provided
- Orientation includes general hospital orientation, nursing orientation, computer/EMR training, and up to one week (36 hours) of department-specific orientation
- Cath Lab is supported by a Director, Coordinator, and Charge Nurse; Rad Techs are also on staff
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from this WVU facility to be eligible for a travel assignment
- Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying; cumulative experience at WVU facilities applies toward a maximum of one year before a mandatory 2-year break is required
- Submission requires 2 references (1 supervisor, 1 peer or additional supervisor), a skills checklist completed within the past year, and copies of certifications and driver's license
- Candidates may only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time
- All candidates interview directly with the unit manager
