We are a busy, physician-led dermatology practice seeking a Billing Coordinator to help manage insurance claims and patient balances from submission through resolution. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, persistent, and enjoys problem-solving.
Prior medical billing experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Submit and track insurance claims from initial filing through payment
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims with insurance companies
- Review EOBs for accuracy and identify discrepancies
- Communicate professionally with insurance carriers and internal team members
- Assist with patient billing questions as needed
- Maintain clear, organized documentation of claim activity
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers
- Ability to manage multiple open items and follow through to resolution
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Calm, professional demeanor when handling insurance or billing issues
- Strong organizational skills and reliability
- Willingness to learn medical billing workflows and payer rules
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience in medical office, insurance, healthcare administration, finance, or other detail-oriented roles
- Experience working with insurance portals
- Familiarity with EHR or practice management systems

- Insurance claim submission and follow-up
