Pay Rate: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Schedule: Flexible 8-hour shift between 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST, Monday-Friday

Training: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST (first week)

Start Date: March 23rd or later

Equipment: Provided by client (fully refundable $300 deposit at $30/week for first 10 weeks)

Position Overview
Medix is hiring a Credentialing Specialist to support provider enrollment and credentialing operations for one of New York State's largest and most reputable health systems. This role ensures providers are properly credentialed, enrolled with payers, and compliant with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
This is a fully remote, contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term growth within a leading healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate with physicians, managed care teams, medical staff offices, and leadership to obtain credentialing documentation

Perform primary source verification to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards

Manage payer credentialing and re-credentialing processes with commercial and government insurance carriers

Prepare, review, and submit credentialing and enrollment applications

Maintain accurate provider credentialing databases, including licensure, certifications, training, and education

Serve as liaison between medical staff, vendors, and IT to ensure accurate provider information in credentialing systems

Perform ongoing provider database audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
-
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including HIPAA, NCQA, CMS, Joint Commission, HCQIA, and state requirements
Required Qualifications

1+ year of healthcare credentialing experience

Strong understanding of payer enrollment and credentialing processes

Knowledge of credentialing compliance and regulatory standards

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with Epic and/or Medent EMR systems
-
Experience credentialing providers for hospitals or large health systems
