Position Details:
Our organization is seeking both seasoned and newly graduated RNs and LPNs for the Medical Stepdown Unit. This unit consists of 22 beds dedicated to the care of critically ill medical patients. The patient demographic includes those requiring Bipaps, High Flow Oxygen, Tracheostomies, Ventilated Tracheostomies, as well as those suffering from Respiratory Failure, Gastrointestinal Bleeds, Alcohol Withdrawal, Drug Overdose, Severe Sepsis, and End of Life Care. This role demands strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities.
What to Expect:
- RN to Patient Ratio: 3-4 patients with support from Technicians
- Close collaboration with Pulmonologists available 24/7
- Leadership support at all times
- Daily teamwork with Care Management, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Dieticians, and Pharmacists
- Shifts available: Day and Night
Qualifications:
Education: Completion of a nursing program (Associate's degree, Diploma, or BSN).
Licensure: It is the candidate's responsibility to secure and maintain a valid RN license in the state of employment, adhering to all state board of nursing regulations.
Experience:
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
- Depending on the specific position or unit, additional certifications may be required within a designated timeframe, including:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as necessary
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing and walking are required throughout each shift.
- Capability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to fulfill job duties.
