Provide skilled nursing care in a specialized cardiac step-down unit, delivering exceptional patient-centered services within an advanced medical environment. This contract opportunity offers engagement in a dynamic healthcare setting specializing in cardiac and med/surg telemetry care, including stroke overflow, with a focus on patients requiring complex cardiac management.

Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on care for patients in a 20-bed cardiac medical step-down unit with a 5:1 patient ratio
- Manage complex cardiac conditions including CHF, COPD, chest pain evaluations, and post-procedure care (excluding post-catheterization unless radial artery access is used)
- Perform advanced unit-specific procedures such as thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomy care, pacemaker monitoring, cardiac catheterizations, and CIWA assessments
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams including RNs, LNAs, and unit clerks to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize Meditech Expanse for accurate and timely documentation
- Participate in bedside shift rounds and effective handoff communication to enhance patient experience
- Adhere to unit and hospital policies, including professional dress code and certification requirements
Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice in the state
- Proficient in telemetry and cardiac step-down nursing care
- Certification in ASLS and BLS required
- Experience with advanced cardiac procedures and patient monitoring technology
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to operate specialized equipment such as IV pumps, Sara Steadys, Hiflo, BiPAP, and Kangaroo pumps
Schedule & Contract Details
- 12-hour shifts, typically 3 shifts per week, including every other weekend or 4-week rotating schedule
