Schedule: Monday-Friday | On-Site
Compensation: $24-29/hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash applications. This role is ideal for someone with a solid accounting foundation who enjoys hands-on work and is looking to grow within an organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare and review billing and invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Apply customer payments including checks, ACH, and credit cards
- Perform cash application and research unapplied or misapplied payments
- Assist with general ledger reconciliations and account analysis
- Prepare and post basic journal entries
- Support month-end close activities
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and support accounting operations
- Assist with audits and ad-hoc accounting projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2-7 years of accounting experience, including AR/AP exposure
- Experience with billing and cash application processes
- Familiarity with accounting systems or ERPs a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, VLOOKUPS
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
