Active Respiratory Therapist license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Respiratory Therapist opportunity is available at a healthcare facility in Caldwell, ID. This contract position offers a dynamic role supporting diverse patient populations across multiple units, including NICU Level II B, MICU, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The ideal candidate will have a strong respiratory therapy background with flexibility to float throughout the hospital and sister facilities within a 50-mile radius.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform arterial blood gases (radial or brachial) and deliver respiratory treatments tailored to patient needs.
- Manage respiratory equipment including Drager V500, Hamilton, ReVel, V60s, Vapotherm, and EPOC devices.
- Provide assistance with intubations and support during deliveries when needed (for those fortable in Level II NICU).
- Float between units such as ICU, MICU, MS- Tele, ER, PACU, and inpatient floors.
- Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, and anesthesia teams for patient care.
- Participate in self-scheduling to help fill staffing gaps; weekend and holiday rotations required.
- plete 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor.
Desired Qualifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required; Candidate must not hold only CRT.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; NICU therapists must have NRP.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an RT, fortable with pediatric ER cases and NICU CPAP initiation.
- Able to flexibly work day, evening, or night shifts with 30-minute call response time if needed.

Schedule:
- Days: 7:00 AM 7:30 PM
- Evenings: 11:00 AM 11:30 PM
- Nights: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
- Weekend rotations: every other weekend; holiday rotation may be required.
