The Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in managing the front desk operations of a small private practice. This position requires high patient interaction and collaboration with both clinical and administrative staff, as well as external service providers. The Medical Receptionist ensures smooth patient flow through appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records using both electronic health records (EHR) systems and paper-based records.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and register patients efficiently and courteously
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using appointment scheduling software
- Manage multi-line phone systems and respond to patient inquiries
- Verify patient insurance details and eligibility
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in both EHR and paper formats
- Perform data entry with attention to detail
- Provide excellent customer service with clear and professional communication
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Proficiency with appointment scheduling software

Preferred Qualifications
