Job Summary:

The Warehouse Helper is responsible for the movement, storage, organization, and documentation of materials, parts, and finished goods within a warehouse/yard environment. This role will play a critical part in setting up and organizing a new warehouse and yard location, ensuring materials and equipment are properly sorted, inventoried, and stored.

The position supports production, shipping, and equipment rental operations by ensuring materials are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently under close supervision, with the opportunity to grow into a Warehouse Lead role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take primary responsibility for organizing and establishing order within a new warehouse and yard environment, including creating structure where none currently exists.
  • Sort, organize, and consolidate materials and equipment relocated from multiple job sites into a cohesive and efficient layout.
  • Perform a full physical inventory of all materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking.
  • Unstack, reorganize, and restack warehouse racks and storage systems currently in disarray.
  • Receive, inspect, and label inbound materials and deliveries.
  • Pull, deliver, and stage materials for production and packing.
  • Accurately assemble and prepare customer orders for shipment.
  • Restock inventory in designated locations, ensuring neat, logical, and accessible storage.
  • Support inventory control through physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and system updates.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipping, receiving, inventory transactions, and equipment tracking.
  • Report material discrepancies, damage, or shortages to supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized; perform daily housekeeping tasks.
  • Assist with cross-functional tasks as needed, including preparation for future warehouse operations.

Growth & Additional Responsibilities:

  • Transition into a Warehouse Lead role over time, taking on increased ownership of warehouse operations.
  • Support the equipment rental counter, including customer interaction and administrative processing.
  • Utilize ERP systems to:
  • -Create quotes
  • -Generate purchase orders
  • -Process invoices and billing
  • -Enter and manage inventory and cycle counts

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of warehouse or material handling experience
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to structure disorganized spaces
  • Forklift experience required
  • Ability to lift 5075 lbs. regularly and perform physical labor
  • Attention to detail and inventory accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Basic computer skills; ERP experience a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred
