Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher with experience across various school levels, including elementary, middle, and high school. The role is based in Naval Anacost Annex, DC, and is offered on a contract basis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs.
- Adapt instructional materials and methods to accommodate diverse learning abilities.
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to create supportive learning environments.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on student performance and behavior.
- Support social and emotional development alongside academic growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with specialization in Special Education.
- Experience teaching at one or more levels: elementary, middle, or high school.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning challenges.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Patience, creativity, and dedication to student success.
