Wyyerd Fiber (“Wyyerd”) is seeking a Director, Market Development and Community Relations who will be responsible for leading the analysis and prioritization of Wyyerd’s expansion projects throughout San Diego County while maintaining, building and expanding relationships with municipal and community leaders to facilitate Wyyerd’s expansion and establish Wyyerd as a strong and supportive partner of the communities in which it operates.
About This Role
The Director, Market Development and Community Relations is a vital part of the Wyyerd team and local community, serving as the leader of the overall expansion project funnel and leading the analysis of projects to prioritize which projects advance through the funnel to be prioritized for implementation. This entails collaborating with many team members with a high degree of multi-tasking and project managing others to keep them on task. Building and maintaining strong relationships in current and prospective service areas is an essential part of this role. This includes active participation in local events, municipal meetings, and other community engagements that support Wyyerd's strategic objectives.
Responsibilities

Identify appropriate points of contact and build relationships with municipality, community and HOA leaders, establishing Wyyerd as a strong partner to the community and earning their trust

Lead the efforts of business development to form license and other partnership agreements with local municipalities, HOA’s, builders/developers and other entities, collaborating with and supported by Wyyerd’s legal and business development teams

Champion the Wyyerd mission, brand and culture in the market and serve as an ambassador on behalf of the Wyyerd team in engaging with the community

Help promote our brand, marketing strategies, and coordinated marketing efforts and build a relationship with the local community

Lead the evaluation and prioritization of expansion projects, collaborating with team members locally and centrally; provide thought leadership on appropriate criteria for selection of such projects

Communicate effectively with all teams and individuals, internal and external, involved in the end-to-end process

Identify new opportunities/projects throughout the area to add to the funnel, both existing areas for overbuild construction and new areas in development for open trench construction

Identify opportunities to reduce costs across all phases of planning, design, engineering and construction.

Assist in the development of financial projections and business cases for projects as part of the evaluation and prioritization process

Assist in identifying and implementing improvements to efficiency via processes or systems/tools

Experience/Qualifications

High school diploma and a minimum 5 years experience in a similar field

Experience with government, municipalities and utilities is preferred

Experience working for a start-up or high growth organization preferred

Positive attitude, willingness and eagerness to learn new things, team player

Strong understanding of telecommunications and the benefits of fiber internet

Working computer knowledge and Microsoft Office knowledge

Understanding and interpreting plant maps

Ability to pass drug test
