About the Role:

The Safety Manager plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment across all company operations, with a particular focus on construction sites. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety management systems that comply with federal, state, and local regulations. The Safety Manager leads accident investigations to identify root causes and implements corrective actions to prevent recurrence. They also design and deliver safety training programs to educate employees on best practices and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the role aims to minimize workplace incidents, promote a culture of safety, and protect the well-being of all personnel on site.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry.
  • Proven expertise in accident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with fall protection program development and implementation.
  • Familiarity with safety management software and digital reporting tools.
  • Advanced training in emergency response and crisis management.
  • Previous leadership experience managing safety teams on large-scale construction projects.
  • Additional certifications such as Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP).

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough accident investigations to determine causes and recommend preventive measures.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety management systems and safety programs tailored to construction environments.
  • Perform regular site safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
  • Design and deliver engaging safety training sessions to employees and contractors, emphasizing fall protection and hazard recognition.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety protocols into daily operations and construction activities.

Skills:

The Safety Manager utilizes accident investigation skills daily to analyze incidents and develop effective corrective actions that enhance workplace safety. Occupational health knowledge is applied to assess risks and implement health-focused safety programs that protect employees. Expertise in safety management systems ensures that all safety protocols are systematically integrated and maintained across construction sites.
