Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school in Fitchburg, MA is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support high school students in grades 9-12. This full-time contract position involves working closely with a caseload of approximately 20 students with mild to moderate special education needs, providing tailored instruction and support to foster academic growth and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for high school students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to accommodate student needs
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families and educational teams
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education License covering high school aged students (9th-12th grade)
  • Experience working with mild to moderate special education populations preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
  • Ability to work full-time, five days a week
