Organizational Overview
Pharmacy of Grace is a 501(c)(3) charitable pharmacy with a vision for all people, regardless of age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, or sexual orientation, to have affordable and sustainable access to prescription medications and pharmacy services that optimize health in our community. Most of all, we will provide hope, often at very dark times.
The mission of Pharmacy of Grace (POG) is to improve access to prescription medication for uninsured and underinsured individuals and to increase the number of prescription medications, many times at no cost, available to vulnerable populations in Kansas.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Regulatory & Legal Accountability
· Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge as defined by the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy
· Ensure compliance with all applicable:
- State and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- DEA, FDA, CMS requirements
- HRSA/340B requirements
· Maintain required licenses, permits,
· Develop policies and procedures
· Serve as the primary contact for pharmacy-related regulatory inspections and audits
Pharmacy Operations & Patient Care
· Oversee all pharmacy services to ensure accurate, safe, timely, and compassionate delivery of medications
· Perform and supervise prescription processing, verification, and dispensing
· Conduct drug utilization reviews and help manage the pharmacy software system
· Ensure adherence to safe medication practices and quality standards
Clinical Services Leadership
· Manage all clinical services offered by the pharmacy
· Ensure services meet community needs and align with the mission of Pharmacy of Grace
· Participate in and lead the pharmacy’s continuous quality improvement (CQI) program
Inventory & Medication Management
· Storage
· Tracking
· Controlled substance accountability
· Ensure proper documentation and compliance with all inventory-related regulations
Staff & Volunteer Leadership
· Supervise and support pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, students, and volunteers
· Supervise staff scheduling, coverage planning to ensure uninterrupted pharmacy operations
· Manage and track pharmacy staff PTO and sick time usage, ensuring appropriate coverage
· Review and approve routine PTO requests in coordination with organizational guidelines
· Communicate staffing needs, coverage concerns, and leave trends to the President/CEO
· Provide onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing performance feedback
· Conduct annual performance evaluations and periodic check-ins for direct reports, including staff pharmacists and the Pharmacy Operations Manager (CPhT), in alignment with organizational policies and in coordination with the President/CEO
· Participate in performance improvement planning and corrective action when necessary, in collaboration with the President/CEO
· Foster a respectful, mission-centered, and collaborative team environment
· Work closely with the staff to ensure seamless patient care
Administrative & Leadership Responsibilities
· Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly pharmacy checklists and documentation
· Lead pharmacy planning meetings and staff meetings
· Contribute to operational planning and policy development
· Communicate regularly with the President/CEO regarding pharmacy performance, compliance, risks, and opportunities
· Maintain appropriate documentation related to staff performance reviews, coaching, and development
· Communicate staff performance trends, development needs, and succession considerations to the President/CEO
Required Qualifications:
· Active Kansas State Board of Pharmacy license
· Licensed as a Kansas Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) or eligible to obtain
Preferred Qualifications:
· 5+ years of clinical community pharmacy experience
· Prior Management / Pharmacist in Charge experience
· Experience in charitable pharmacy and/or 340B programs
· Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
· Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
· Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
