Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher is needed to support a preschool Autism classroom within an elementary school setting located in Aurora, CO. This contract position runs from January 7, 2026, through May 21, 2026, with a Monday through Friday schedule totaling 37.5 hours per week. The role requires on-site presence at Meadowood Child Development Center and is not open to remote or hybrid arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized education to preschool-aged children diagnosed with Autism within an Early Childhood Special Education classroom.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet each students unique needs.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff to ensure holistic development and progress.
- Monitor student progress, maintain comprehensive records, and report outcomes consistent with district and state guidelines.
- Create a supportive, nurturing, and structured learning environment conducive to the students educational and social skills development.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Teaching License with an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) endorsement is required.
- Candidates currently in the process of obtaining ECSE licensure may be considered, pending eligibility determination.
- Experience working with preschool children, particularly in Autism support, is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with families, educators, and specialists.
- Commitment to on-site, full-time engagement without virtual or hybrid options.
