Byington Winery and Vineyard is a boutique winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We are known for our Pinot Noir Wines, and we not only have 8 acres of Pinot Noir grapes on our estate here in Santa Cruz, but we have a second vineyard in the Sonoma region. Tin Cross Vineyard is not only one of the oldest vineyards in California, but we grow some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Petit Verdot in the region.
About you:
Are you passionate about the world of wine and looking to join a dynamic team in a family-run winery? Byington Winery is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, accurate and organized Office Manager to join our team.
**Responsibilities:**
- Manage day-to-day office operations including but not limited to, answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining office supplies.
- Must be familiar with payroll systems, and running payroll for winery staff.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, and invoicing using QuickBooks Online.
- Track and manage use tax and licensing for all states that we ship wine to.
- Maintain "bottled" inventory status, moving cases from storage or tax paid to tasting room. Reconcile sales and shipments to ensure that all inventory is accounted for
- Work with team to order and/or ship case inventory between our warehouse and winery, systemically relieving inventory as it is sold from total inventory.
- Manage shipments to other locations, international or domestic, ensuring all paperwork is complete, and invoicing is done in a timely fashion.
- Utilize POS system for retail transactions and inventory tracking.
- Maintain and update spreadsheets in Excel and Google Sheets for various administrative tasks.
- Assist with events and tastings as needed, including outside of normal business hours if required.
- Other duties as needed, assisting team members or performing delegated tasks.
**Preferred Skills:**
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, POS systems, Inventory management systems, Excel, and Google Sheets. Must be able to learn quickly, and follow processes.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail. Has the ability to problem solve and create process as needed to enhance accuracy and efficiently within the office function
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience in the wine industry is a plus but not required.
**Qualifications:**
- Previous experience in office management with emphasis on financial (AR/AP) required as well as basic inventory knowledge (preferred)
- Ability to uphold confidentiality, and to use discretion as needed in this role.
- Must be a team player with a willingness to assist in various tasks as needed.
- AS degree or higher strongly preferred. Additional education or certifications are a plus.
